What stood out
The pitcher board rewarded zeros. Pfaadt, Burns, Holmes, Yamamoto, and Freeland all stacked length. Sale, Alcantara, and Cole still ranked because the scoring does not require a win.
The team board rewarded crooked innings. Chicago's five-run fourth, Houston's five-run 10th, and the Athletics' late homers all cleared 16 points. Cincinnati's 1-0 masterpiece barely moved the team table.
Caglianone driving in five in a 7-6 win at Anaheim was the hitter-board night that did not get a full recap. Henderson's 6-5 win in Tampa Bay was the other.
