The Chicago Cubs went 4-5 and still finished sixth (75 FP) after scoring 54 runs. Pete Crow-Armstrong stayed on the hitter hot board. The New York Yankees (69 FP, 6-2) and Los Angeles Dodgers (68 FP, 6-2) are mid-pack brands having fine fortnights. They are not the 9-0 Royals.

The Seattle Mariners went 6-3 and finished 22nd at 28 team fantasy points. They scored 40 and allowed 67. George Kirby led Tuesday's pitcher board in a 4-1 win. Cal Raleigh sat fourth among hitters. Team FP does not care that the ace and the catcher were fine. Sixty-seven runs allowed will sink the sheet.

Baltimore went 4-5 and still cracked the top 10 after a 13-1 night in St. Louis. One blowout moves a 10-day team board. It does not turn 4-5 into 9-0.

The freeze: Colorado, then the clubs that used to be hot

Fourteen team fantasy points is the floor.

The Rockies went 2-7. They scored 40 and allowed 65 in nine games. That is 7.22 runs allowed per game. Cole Carrigg landed on the hitter cold board. The pitching did not save them.

The next names are ordinary in a brutal way. The Cincinnati Reds (17 FP, 3-8, 58 runs allowed). The Detroit Tigers (19 FP, 2-7). The San Francisco Giants (20 FP, 3-6), even with Devers back on the hitter hot board. The Houston Astros (22 FP, 3-5) still took a 9-7 game in the Bronx on Tuesday. One good road win does not rewrite eight games.

The Rays are the reversal that belongs in the headline. They led the last 10-day team board at 123 FP and 9-0. This window: 25 FP, 4-6, 51 runs allowed. Ten days is long enough to look like a different club. It is not a season.

Cold rank 1 is the lowest team FP. Seattle's 6-3 record is the trap. Look at runs allowed before you call a winning week hot.

What 10 days actually tell you

The Royals won the board because they did not lose and Cameron threw 14 scoreless. Boston won the hitter version of a hot week. Milwaukee won on pitching. Tampa Bay showed that a 9-0 window can become a 4-6 window before the next pay period.

Seattle is the other lesson. Kirby and Raleigh can rank. The club can still finish 22nd if it allows 67 runs.
