Brayan Rocchio hit a tying grand slam and a walk-off homer in the same box score. The Associated Press logged him as the sixth player in MLB history to do that. The last one was Jack Clark in 1991.

Toronto's 19 is a 9-2 road win with 13 hits. Cleveland's 19 is two games, including the Rocchio walk-off. The Mets hit five homers and still sit third because San Francisco's 12-hit night kept the team score from running away.

Jones is the card because six scoreless and nine strikeouts in a 1-0 game is a different conversation from a quality start in a 10-6. Suárez and Snell both threw shutout innings into the sixth or seventh and still sit behind him. Johnson's 16 FP in a loss is the night's unlucky line: 1.67 ERA over his last six starts, and one double was enough.

Rocchio's 22 is the hitter story and the baseball story. Devers drove in five in a loss and still has 33 homers, most by a Giant since Bonds in 2004. Alvarez's two homers were his first since August 9. Bazzana's 14 is a doubleheader total: the tying setup single in game one, the three-run homer in game two.

What stood out
Rocchio and Jones are the two names that do not need a table to explain them. One rewrote a 6-1 deficit. The other needed one double from a teammate and then struck out nine.
The AL wild-card picture stayed messy. Cleveland held the last spot by sweeping Detroit. Toronto crawled back to .500 and is still in the conversation. Baltimore lost 1-0 on Mickey Gasper's first-inning homer and Shane Baz's six-plus innings of one-run ball.
