Sandy Alcantara led pitchers with 29 AthX Engine fantasy points on seven shutout innings in Miami's win over the Angels. Jake McCarthy led hitters with 19 fantasy points on a two-homer, four-run night in Colorado's win over St. Louis. And the Pittsburgh Pirates led every team with 21 fantasy points in a 9-0 rout of the Mets.

Alcantara's shutout led the board by five points over Cole, who took the loss column but not the AthX Engine ranking away from a strong start of his own. Sale still cracked the top 10 in a one-run loss to the Yankees, proof AthX Engine ranks the line, not only the decision.

McCarthy's two homers and two steals topped every hitter on the slate. Caglianone and Naylor both cleared 15 points without a single featured recap between them, a reminder that the best individual nights don't always come from the marquee games.

What stood out
The pitcher board rewarded shutdown starts over decisions. Alcantara and Chandler both threw scoreless ball, while Cole and Sale each scored well in a game neither man technically controlled by the final out. Length and strikeouts moved the number more than wins did.
The team board split between blowouts and grinders. Pittsburgh, Detroit, Washington, and Miami all cleared 17 team points on comfortable wins, while Colorado and Toronto climbed the board despite needing extra offense or extra innings to get there.
