Eighteen runs in Houston. A dropped fly in Cincinnati. deGrom at 2,000.
Thursday had an 18-3 that owned the team board, a ninth inning that nearly broke Great American Ball Park, and Jacob deGrom reaching 2,000 career strikeouts on a one-hitter. Zach Neto led every hitter. The Los Angeles Angels still sat alone atop the team table by a margin the rest of the slate could not touch.

Texas only scored 7 team points in a 2-0 because shutouts with two runs do not fill a team board the way a rout does. deGrom still owned the pitcher table.

Six featured games from Thursday
What stood out
The team board had a runaway again. Los Angeles's 36 sat 22 points ahead of the next clubs. Neto owned the hitter table the way Milwaukee's lineup owned Tuesday. Different week, same shape: one blowout, then a cluster of competitive wins.
The pitcher board did not belong to the 18-3 alone. deGrom's milestone one-hitter scored 30. Bieber scored 26 without a featured recap. Rodriguez still landed third with 24 while his offense scored 18. Cole and Holmes filled the length spots from 6-1 and 2-0 wins.
McLain was the loudest name from a losing club. Kay cracked the pitching top 10 in a White Sox shutout loss. Cincinnati still made the team top 10 at 7 despite the ninth-inning collapse.
