Why Allen, Jackson, and Hurts sit alone

Josh Allen at 618 is not a surprise if you watch how AthX Engine pays rushing. Buffalo's offense still asks him to create when the pocket collapses, and those scrambles score like skill-position plays. Lamar Jackson is the same idea in Baltimore: designed runs plus explosive throws. Jalen Hurts keeps the third tier honest because the tush-push era never fully left the fantasy ledger even when the league debates the play.

That is the board's first rule. Pure pocket passers can finish high. Dual-threat QBs own the ceiling under this card.

The middle of the board is camp theater

ESPN's 2026 camp previews and NFL.com's position-battle list are full of quarterback questions that do not all show up in our top 20 yet. Atlanta's Tua-Penix fight, Cleveland's Watson-Sanders mess, and Las Vegas's Cousins-Mendoza competition will decide whether those rooms even produce a starter worth projecting into the teens.

On our board, the story is slightly different: young arms who already have the job. Drake Maye at fourth is AthX Engine buying a full season of New England volume after an offseason that added real receiver talent. Bo Nix and Caleb Williams sit 7th and 11th as year-two leaps. Jayden Daniels at 15 still has dual-threat juice even if Washington's supporting cast is noisier than last year.

Mahomes eighth is not a take. It is the scoring card.

Patrick Mahomes at 523 projected FP ranks eighth. That will start fights on the internet. It is also what happens when rush upside is thinner, the Chiefs' skill group is less star-heavy at the top, and AthX Engine refuses to invent superhero points for brand value.

Baker Mayfield, Dak Prescott, and Jared Goff all clear 520 with stable offenses and real volume. Joe Burrow at 18th is the injury-risk line in plain sight: elite when healthy, discounted when the model has to price durability. Jaxson Dart closing the top 20 is a Giants bet that a young starter gets enough rope to produce, not a promise he will.
