AthX Top Pitchers, Hitters & Team Scores (August 3, 2026)

Monday nights after a trade deadline tend to be quiet. This one wasn't, at least not in St. Louis.

Only eight games were on the board on August 3, the lightest slate of the week, but it still produced a three-homer game, a near shutout at Chase Field, and a nine-strikeout start at altitude. Alec Burleson's night in the Bronx was the best individual performance anywhere in baseball, and the Cardinals' seven-run eighth inning was the single biggest swing of the night.

From the six featured games

  • Cardinals 13, Yankees 7: Burleson's three homers, capped by a seven-run eighth inning, erased a six-run deficit in the night's biggest comeback.
  • Cubs 10, Dodgers 5: Three two-run homers extended Los Angeles's losing streak to four, two days after the Dodgers landed Tarik Skubal.
  • Rays 13, Rockies 9: Junior Caminero's two homers and a nine-strikeout Ian Seymour start held off a four-run Coors Field rally.
  • Diamondbacks 5, Padres 1: Brandon Pfaadt's near-shutout moved Arizona two games clear of San Diego in the NL wild-card race.
  • Blue Jays 3, Astros 1: Alejandro Kirk's homer and a Shane Bieber-to-Tyler Rogers finish snapped Houston's six-game winning streak.
  • Phillies 6, Nationals 3: Derek Hill's go-ahead grand slam turned deadline day into a full sweep of good news in Philadelphia.
  • What stood out

St. Louis and Tampa Bay were the only two teams to crack 20 AthX Engine team fantasy points on a night with just eight games, and both wins came the same way: an early lead built by power, backed by a start that went deep enough to protect it. Logan Webb's 24-point outing for San Francisco was the best pitching line of the night, even in a game that didn't make our six-recap cut, a reminder that the AthX Engine board doesn't always match the headline slate. On the other end, Milwaukee's 1-point night in a one-run loss to Pittsburgh shows how quickly a tight, low-scoring game can leave a team with almost nothing on the fantasy side despite staying competitive on the scoreboard.
