Four homers and a no-hit bid that almost lasted
July 11, 2026 – Baltimore – Kyle Bradish took a no-hitter into the seventh at Camden Yards. Jac Caglianone's leadoff single ended that dream, but by then the Orioles had already built a lead Kansas City couldn't chase down.
The Baltimore Orioles beat the Kansas City Royals 6-1, per the Associated Press recap on CBS Sports. Bradish went 6 2/3 innings on one run and two hits, struck out five, walked two, and helped Baltimore clinch the series.
Alonso breaks it open, then the yard keeps answering
Samuel Basallo's RBI double in the second made it 1-0. The game stayed there until the fourth, when Pete Alonso drove a 420-foot shot for a two-run homer and a 3-0 lead. He finished 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs — 8 hitting FP on AthX Engine.
Coby Mayo added a solo shot in the fifth. Taylor Ward hit his first homer at Camden Yards this season in the sixth. Gunnar Henderson capped the scoring with his first long ball since June 19, first-pitch swinging in the eighth.
Four homers. One run allowed through most of Bradish's night. That's how you win a series opener at home without drama.
Bradish's line was the Saturday pitching story
21.7 pitching FP for Bradish — the second-best arm on the card behind Matthew Liberatore's 23, and the backbone of Baltimore's 14 team FP total.
Salvador Perez brought home Kansas City's only run with a sacrifice fly in the seventh, the same inning Caglianone ended the no-hit bid. Noah Cameron took the loss for the Royals, giving up five runs on five hits with nine strikeouts. Small consolation on a night the Orioles hit four balls over the fence.
