How to Watch MLB Opening Week 2026: TV, Streaming, Times

Opening Week 2026 is not one flip of an "Opening Day" switch. First pitches land on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Saturday is the first day every team plays. If you are planning your week (or keeping AthX open on a second screen), grab times from the league schedule, then check your local channel or app.

Opening Night: Wednesday, March 25

The Giants host the Yankees at Oracle Park. First pitch is 8:05 p.m. ET (MLB.com). It is the first regular-season MLB game on Netflix in the U.S. and Canada. Pregame on Netflix starts at 7 p.m. ET.

Later in 2026, Netflix is also set to carry the Home Run Derby and the Field of Dreams game (dates and parks are in that same MLB write-up). Good bookmarks if you like big national windows.

Opening Day: Thursday, March 26

Twenty-two teams open on Thursday (11 games) (schedule explainer). Dodgers vs. Diamondbacks is an 8:30 p.m. ET night game on NBC and Peacock. Other games run afternoon in the Midwest and late out West. Check MLB.com or ESPN the morning of for rain or time changes.

Friday, March 27: second wave

Six teams play their first game Friday: Athletics, Blue Jays, Braves, Marlins, Rockies, and Royals (overview). Sample times from the league's list: Athletics at Blue Jays (7:07 p.m. ET), Royals at Braves (7:15 p.m. ET), Rockies at Marlins (7:10 p.m. ET). Times are Eastern; convert for your zone.

Saturday, March 28: all 30 teams

Saturday, March 28 is the first day all 30 clubs are on the docket (schedule explainer). If you want a wall-to-wall baseball day, that is your Saturday.

Regional networks, MLB.TV, and blackouts

Games that are not national usually air on regional sports networks or their apps. MLB.TV helps with out-of-market games where it is sold, but blackouts still apply. Traveling? Check zip and device rules before first pitch.

Planning tips

Time zone. National stories often use Eastern. West Coast night games are easy to miss by an hour.
