Guardians 13, Twins 4: Seven Homers and Halpin's First Two in the Majors

Seven long balls, Progressive Field on fire

July 20, 2026 – Cleveland – Joe Ryan walked into a trap. Cleveland answered with a franchise-level home-game barrage.

Petey Halpin and Rhys Hoskins each went deep twice. Travis Bazzana, Brayan Rocchio, and Patrick Bailey added more. And the Cleveland Guardians beat the Minnesota Twins 13-4, matching a franchise record for home-game homers with seven, per the Associated Press.

Nineteen hits. Season-high volume. AthX Engine loved every crooked number.

Ryan's six-homer night

Ryan (6-6), an All-Star, tied a major league record and set a Twins franchise mark by allowing six homers. He lasted four innings, gave up eight runs and a career-high 10 hits, and watched his ERA jump from 2.85 to 3.38.

Halpin entered batting under .200 and launched his first two big-league homers to right-center in the second and fourth. Hoskins matched him. Chase DeLauter and Bailey stacked four-hit nights. The Guardians scored at least 13 for the second time this season.

Bibee keeps it calm

Tanner Bibee (4-9) allowed two runs over six and struck out five. After the early fireworks, Cleveland never needed drama. Minnesota's "who knows" deadline identity got louder after another road beating.

Guardians 25 team FP led Monday. Halpin 16 hitting FP tied for the card high. Bibee 16 pitching FP. Hoskins and Bailey both cracked 11 FP. Loud night; dynamic pricing still prices the next trade.

What comes next

Cleveland sits in the muddled AL picture with two weeks to the August 3 deadline. Nights like this buy time. Minnesota keeps deciding whether proximity to a wild card is enough to hold veterans like Ryan.
