Cubs 10, Cardinals 2: Seven Runs Before the Third Inning

Pete Crow-Armstrong’s sacrifice fly, Seiya Suzuki’s double, Michael Busch and Nico Hoerner’s RBI singles: 7-0 before Michael McGreevy (4-9) could get five outs. Colin Rea (8-7) worked six innings of one-run ball. And the Chicago Cubs beat the St. Louis Cardinals 10-2, per the Associated Press.

Suzuki, Happ, and Hoerner each drove in two. Chicago piled 17 hits across two nights of 31 total against St. Louis. The Cardinals scratched one on Nathan Church’s sacrifice fly in the fourth and another on Masyn Winn’s ninth-inning double. They fell below .500 for the first time this season.

Seven early runs carried the team score
