The lead
June 2, 2026 - Milwaukee - Kyle Harrison matched his season high with 12 strikeouts, Jake Bauers hit a three-run homer, and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the San Francisco Giants 8-3 in Harrison's first start against the organization that drafted him, per the Associated Press recap on WTMJ.
Harrison (7-1) allowed one run in 5⅔ innings and improved to 6-0 in his last seven starts. Milwaukee moved a season-high 16 games over .500.
How the game turned
Christian Yelich and Jackson Chourio walked to open the first before Bauers homered off Trevor McDonald (2-3) for a 3-0 lead—Bauers' team-leading 10th homer.
Harrison received a standing ovation after 106 pitches and 12 strikeouts. The Giants trimmed the deficit to 4-3 in the eighth on pinch-hit RBI singles from Bryce Eldridge and Jung Hoo Lee.
Milwaukee answered with four in the bottom of the eighth. Yelich's two-run single, Chourio's RBI double, and Brice Turang's RBI single made it 8-3.
Pitching and matchup notes

Harrison came up with the Giants in 2023, went to Boston in the Rafael Devers trade, and joined Milwaukee in the offseason. The Giants had routed Milwaukee 16-2 on Monday.
Bats that changed the board
AthX Engine scored Harrison at 19.66 pitching FP and Yelich at 9 hitting FP. Twelve strikeouts against a former club is the pitching ceiling Milwaukee traders watch on the daily board.
AthX Engine fantasy angle
16 team FP paired with elite pitching FP is the AthX Engine template for a dominant starter night—offense sealed it late. That daily profile does not automatically reprice shares via dynamic pricing.
What comes next
The series continues Wednesday at American Family Field, per AP.
