Mariners 7, Dodgers 6: Canzone’s Second Homers Breaks It Open

Two Canzone blasts, then Muñoz and Ohtani at third

July 28, 2026 – Los Angeles – Dominic Canzone tied it with a 433-foot solo shot in the sixth. He broke it with a two-run drive in the eighth.

Julio Rodríguez singled and stole second. Alex Vesia came in. Canzone sent the second slider 414 feet to center for a 7-5 lead, his second homer of the night and 18th of the season. Shohei Ohtani answered in the ninth with an RBI double that scored Dalton Rushing after a misplay, then stood at third with the tying run. Andrés Muñoz got Mookie Betts to ground out for save No. 19. And the Seattle Mariners beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-6, per the Associated Press.

Ohtani had opened the night with a leadoff homer and finished 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Cal Raleigh, Rodríguez, and Rob Refsnyder (off the IL) also went deep for Seattle. Max Muncy’s fifth-inning blast briefly put Los Angeles ahead 5-4.

Canzone topped Seattle’s card
