Brewers 8, Mets 2: Chourio Homers Twice and Scores Four

Two homers, four runs, and a series that got away

August 27, 2026 – New York – Jackson Chourio homered in the second. He homered again in the eighth. In between he scored two more times.

The Milwaukee Brewers beat the New York Mets 8-2 and took the series after Wednesday's 8-1 win. Chourio went 4-for-5 with two homers, four RBI, and four runs. Jacob Misiorowski threw six innings and allowed two.

Sean Manaea lasted 5 2/3 and allowed six. Citi Field did not get a clean series finale.

Four after two, then Chourio's 19th

Andrew Vaughn singled home Chourio in the first. Luis Lara scored on a force. 2-0. Chourio's two-run shot in the second, his 18th, scored David Hamilton. 4-0.

William Contreras grounded home Chourio in the fifth. The Mets answered with Jared Young's double and Christopher Morel's single. 5-2. Cooper Pratt's sacrifice fly made it 6-2. Chourio's second homer in the eighth, his 19th, scored Pratt. 8-2.

Misiorowski: six innings, two hits, two runs, two walks, six strikeouts. DL Hall struck out two in the eighth. Milwaukee never needed a ninth-inning conversation.

A 4-for-5, two-homer night is the whole hitter board in one lineup spot. The Mets scored two and spent the rest of the night watching Chourio round the bases.

AthX Engine scored Chourio at 20 hitting fantasy points, first among hitters. Milwaukee finished at 17 team fantasy points, second on the slate. New York finished at minus-5. Back-to-back home losses at 8-1 and 8-2 grade that way.

What's next

Milwaukee just took two at Citi Field with different heroes. New York has to get a starter through the second without falling behind by four.
