Who can list on the AthX NFL marketplace?

At launch direction, listable players need AthX Engine season projection at or above the listing gate and an active (ACT) roster status. Pre-season or never-ACT players are not IPO-approvable until they are ACT.

Do backup QBs and kickers list freely?

No. Backup QBs (depth rank 2+) are hard-capped below the listing gate. Only depth-chart #1 kickers are listable under current product locks.

What happens if a listed player goes on short IR?

Short IR, PUP, and NFI stays stay tradeable once a player has already IPO-listed. Season-ending IR is a different path and can trigger force-sell when flagged.

Are NFL team shares force-sold at season end?

No. Team shares are never force-sold. They are held across seasons and repriced later, similar to the MLB franchise model.

The listing gate (player shares)

For IPO / marketplace listing direction:

Pre-season / never-ACT players are not listable and not IPO-approvable until they are ACT. Practice-squad style statuses do not sneak onto the board just because a name is famous.

Depth clamps that matter

That keeps the marketplace about opportunity, not every roster footnote.

Short IR vs season-ending IR

Once a player has IPO-listed:

Short IR / PUP / NFI — stays tradeable

Season-ending IR — can trigger force-sell when flagged (see season force-sell guide)

Injury status is not "automatic delist" for every short absence. It is also not "hold forever" if the season is over for that player.

Team shares play by different rules

Franchise shares score on AthX Engine team production (wins/losses and points for/against context). Teams are never force-sold at regular-season end, playoff elimination, or Super Bowl night. They hold across seasons and reprice later—closer to how MLB franchises behave on AthX than how weekly fantasy treats a defense slot.

Why this exists

Without gates, IPO week becomes a dumping ground for every depth chart name. With gates, AthX Engine projections and real roster status decide who belongs on a tradeable board. That is how you get a football book, not a 500-name noise machine.
