Vikings 15, Dolphins 10: Five Reichard Kicks, Zero Minnesota TDs

October 4, 2026 - Minneapolis - T.J. Hockenson caught his 13th ball of the afternoon and slid at the Miami 2. The clock hit the two-minute warning. The Dolphins had no timeouts. Kyler Murray took a knee, and the Minnesota Vikings were 4-0 without an offensive touchdown.

They beat the Miami Dolphins 15-10 at U.S. Bank Stadium. Will Reichard made five field goals. Murray went 27 of 37 for 247 yards, no scores, no picks. Justin Jefferson was out. Hockenson tied his career high with 13 catches for 119 yards, the most by a Viking against Miami, past Sammy White, Jake Reed, and Cris Carter. Miami is 0-4. Malik Willis started. Tua Tagovailoa is in Atlanta this year. That is not a footnote. It is why Willis was under center.

9-0 at the half, then Gordon from 12

Reichard from 47 at 7:54 of the first, after six plays and 9 yards. Jacob Rodriguez, the rookie linebacker, kept Minnesota out of the end zone, per the Dolphins. Reichard from 50 at 7:08 of the second. From 33 as the half expired. 9-0. Minnesota had the ball and the kicks. It did not have six.

Riley Patterson opened the third from 27. 9-3. Reichard from 41. 12-3. Willis then hit Malik Washington on consecutive 17-yard throws. Ollie Gordon II ran 9, then scored from 12 with 11 seconds left in the quarter. 12-10. Gordon finished with nine carries for 100 yards, 11.1 per pop, his first 100-yard game. The Dolphins said it was the highest yards-per-carry mark in the NFL this season. Miami ran 18 times for 121 against a front that came in fourth against the run.

Reichard from 29 at 6:41 of the fourth after 15 plays and 60 yards. 15-10. That was the last score. Minnesota possessed the ball for the final 5:41 and finished with 39:11 to Miami's 20:49. Hockenson's 22-yarder moved it from the 37 to the 22. A penalty. A 5-yard catch. The 8-yard slide. Kneel.

Four sacks, 37 Miami plays

Dallas Turner sacked Willis twice. Zach Sieler sacked Murray twice. Joshua Uche and Chop Robinson had one each on Murray. Miami dropped him four times, its most in a game since December 2025 against the Jets. The Dolphins still ran only 37 offensive plays. Blake Cashman led Minnesota with eight tackles and a fumble recovery. Jordyn Brooks had five solos and a pass defensed.

Aaron Jones ran 20 times for 94 and caught four for 34. Jordan Addison had four for 52, including 27 on the last drive. Murray's rating was 90.7. Willis was 9 of 17 for 85. Washington caught five for 67. De'Von Achane did not post a line. Gordon carried the ground game.

Minnesota had 336 yards. Miami had 198. The Vikings never reached the end zone and still won because Reichard was 5-for-5 (47, 50, 33, 41, 29) and because Hockenson would not go down inbounds at the 2. Kevin O'Connell's club is unbeaten. Mike McDaniel's club has taken unbeaten teams to the wire two straight weeks and left 0-4.

The next one is New Orleans on the road. Miami hosts Cincinnati. Five field goals will not be the plan every Sunday. It was enough on a day Jefferson sat and the slide at the 2 was the loudest play in the building.

Fantasy points measure the box. Price is what traders will pay for a kicker who won a game without a touchdown, and for a Dolphins defensive tackle who outscored the skill board in a 15-10 defeat. They move together. They are not the same number.

Track Reichard, Jones, Sieler, Achane, and both clubs on the marketplace. Minnesota visits New Orleans on Oct. 11. Cincinnati visits Miami that afternoon.
