October 22, 2026 - Vancouver - Three Detroit goals in the first nine minutes. Then almost 40 minutes without a Canucks shot. Rogers Arena started cheering when Vancouver finally put one on net in the third. Michal Postava, in his NHL debut after a 6 a.m. flight from Grand Rapids, told NHL.com he decided those cheers were for him.

John Gibson stopped 4 of 5 in 40:00, then sat. The NHL recap said he had something in his eye. The Associated Press recap called it an upper-body injury. Raymond, Wallinder, Pettersson, Raymond again
Raymond opened it at 4:18, a tip of Albert Johansson's point shot between his legs and over Lankinen's blocker, Brandsegg-Nygard the other assist. "It's just kind of one of those that that comes at you in the moment," Raymond told NHL.com.
Wallinder made it 2-0 at 6:04. The NHL recap said a cross-ice pass bounced back to him off Dylan Larkin, and he banked it in off Lankinen from the goal line.
Pettersson cut it to 2-1 at 7:02, a power-play one-timer from the right dot under Gibson's left pad. Hronek and Lekkerimaki on the play.
Raymond restored 3-1 at 8:56 on the power play. Alex DeBrincat threw it into the crease. The puck caught under Arvidsson after he was knocked down. Raymond backhanded the loose puck into an open net. The NHL recap said he became the first Red Wings skater with three points in a first period on the road since Andreas Athanasiou on Jan. 5, 2017. He has five points (three goals, two assists) in two games after none in the previous four. "He put himself in good spots tonight to score," McLellan told NHL.com.
Rasmussen, then a debut in the third
Rasmussen scored his first of the season at 14:58 of the second, a slot deflection, Anton Johansson and J.T. Compher on the play. Compher was back after seven games out. 4-1.
Postava got the net for the third. Daniil Tarasov was injured in practice Wednesday and is day to day, McLellan said. Postava was recalled that morning. "I don't have time to think about anything, so yeah, I just warm up and be ready."
Finnie made it 5-1 at 4:00, a drop from Arvidsson, shot over a falling Lankinen who had lost an edge. Vancouver's first shot since Pettersson arrived at 6:16 of the third. Lekkerimaki finished a cross-crease from Rossi at 10:37, Zeev Buium the other assist. 5-2.
Boeser told NHL.com it is the same stuff game after game, and it is embarrassing. Manny Malhotra said there has to be a level of concern, and that the identity of the team is a reflection of what the players are putting forth. Raymond, on the start: "We came out really hot. We came out playing with the puck, good O-zone time, and obviously we got rewarded for it." The NHL notes said Compher was plus-1 with an assist and a shot in 13:20 in his return, DeBrincat has four points in a three-game streak, Finnie has six points (three goals, three assists) in five games, and Rossi played 9:38 with an assist after two games out with an illness.
