Ravens 41, Commanders 3: Huntley Scores, Then the Backups Empty the Bench

August 28, 2026 - Baltimore - Tyler Huntley needed one series. Four completions. A 25-yard touchdown to Chris Moore. Then he sat, and the Baltimore Ravens still buried the Washington Commanders 41-3.

Lamar Jackson did not play. Jayden Daniels did not play. Baltimore finished the preseason 3-0. Washington finished 1-2.

The only real sour note was Tyler Loop. He missed two of four field goals.

One series, then a short field, then a one-hander

Kaytron Allen fumbled Washington's first offensive snap. Ethan Burke punched it out. C.J. Okoye recovered. Joe Fagnano scored on a 1-yard sneak. 14-0.

LaJohntay Wester made it 24-0 with 3:46 left in the half, reaching back with one arm for a 10-yard throw from Fagnano. Loop's 51-yarder at the end of the second quarter sailed wide left. He also missed from 58. He made from 51 and 24. He finished the three exhibition games 5 of 8.

Coach Jesse Minter said you want to see makes in games, and that Baltimore will keep looking at the situation. Loop said the expectation is to make kicks and that the team has two weeks until the opener at Indianapolis.

Jonathan Ward scored from 2 yards. Quindell Johnson intercepted a pass that finally put Washington in field-goal range for its only points. In the fourth, Dontae McMillan broke a 63-yard run on his first carry, and Austin Reed hit Cornelius Johnson for 20 yards. 41-3.

456 yards to 177

Baltimore held a 26-7 edge in first downs. Washington picked up three of those on the last drive. The Ravens outgained the Commanders 456-177. First half: 17 first downs to 1, and 206 yards to 45. None of Huntley, Fagnano, or Reed was sacked. Washington went 1 of 12 on third down.

Athan Kaliakmanis went 7 of 13 for 45 yards. Sam Hartman went 9 of 14 for 64. Robert Henry Jr. had 33 yards on 10 carries. Craig Reynolds had 38 on nine. Lawrence Cager caught six for 34. Ward ran seven times for 53. Rasheen Ali had 28 on nine. Adam Randall mixed 25 rushing yards with three catches for 45.

Dan Quinn told reporters it did not matter who was or wasn't playing, and that what Washington showed was not good enough with roster cuts due Sunday. The Ravens' site called it their largest preseason margin (38 points). Baltimore outscored preseason opponents 78-13.
