Rams 24, Eagles 20: Williams Twice in the Fourth

October 4, 2026 - Philadelphia - Sean McVay pulled the offense in as the third quarter died and the Rams trailed by 10. Nick Sirianni, leading 20-10, went for it on fourth-and-goal from the 2. He wanted a three-score game. He did not get the yard. Kyren Williams scored twice after that, and Lincoln Financial Field sent the Eagles home 2-2.

The Los Angeles Rams beat the Philadelphia Eagles 24-20. Los Angeles is 2-2. Williams ran 16 times for 80 and two scores and caught 10 for 67. Puka Nacua caught nine for 125 and scored from 2 yards on a jet. Matthew Stafford threw for 317 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions. It was enough because the last drive belonged to Byron Young.

20-10 at the half, zeros after

Jake Elliott opened from 29. Harrison Mevis answered from 40. Elliott from 56. 6-3. Cooper DeJean's interception return set up Jalen Hurts to Darius Cooper from 18. 13-3. Nacua scored from 2. 13-10. Hurts found Cooper again from 10 with three seconds left in the half. 20-10.

The third quarter was empty. The fourth was not. Sirianni later owned the fourth-down call from the 2: you go for it and you don't get it, that's on the head coach. The Rams took over. Ten plays, 98 yards. The Rams' wrap has Williams from 4 at 3:59. ESPN's scoring list has 1 yard on the same snap. 20-17 either way. Mevis then kicked the next kickoff out of bounds. Philadelphia still punted. Alex Bachman returned it to the Rams' 21. Williams broke Jeremiah Trotter Jr. and Michael Carter II from 7. 24-20, 1:10 left.

Young sacked Hurts for 7, then stripped him for 8 more. Fourth-and-25 died. Stafford took a knee.

0-for-12 on third down

Hurts went 12 of 27 for 93 yards and the two Cooper scores. He was sacked four times. Cooper caught three for 33 and both Philadelphia touchdowns. Tank Bigsby ran 14 times for 55. Will Shipley added six for 23. Sirianni said the injury picture worsened Sunday, including running back Saquon Barkley. The Eagles were 0-for-12 on third down, per the club recap, and scored on none of their last six possessions. They had 20 points at halftime. They had zero after.

Stafford was 32 of 51. The picks went to DeJean and Andrew Mukuba. Davante Adams caught four for 32 on nine targets. Tyler Higbee had five for 67. Nacua added a 2-yard rushing score in the second quarter, the one that made it 13-10. Los Angeles still had to run it in twice in the fourth because the passing game never found the end zone.

An unnecessary roughness penalty on Philadelphia extended the 98-yard drive, per the Rams. Sirianni said the offense has not been good enough, that the group is still finding out who it is. McVay had seen a funk. The huddle before the fourth quarter was the tell. The last two Williams scores were the proof.

Trotter had 10 solo tackles. DeJean had the pick, two passes defensed, three solos. Young finished with 2.5 sacks, two tackles for loss, and the forced fumble. The Rams' wrap is the one that puts those last two sacks on the final drive. Jihaad Campbell had nine solos. Nate Landman had four solos and six assists for Los Angeles.

Buffalo visits the Rams on Monday night in Week 5. Philadelphia visits Jacksonville on Sunday. Both clubs are 2-2. One just learned what a fourth-and-2 from the 2 costs. The other learned it can throw for 317 and still need the back.
