Raiders 26, Chargers 14: Cousins to White, Twice

September 20, 2026 - Inglewood - The crowd at SoFi sounded like a Raiders home game. Kirk Cousins threw three touchdowns. Cody White, up from the practice squad, caught two of them. Las Vegas left Los Angeles with a 26-14 win, its first in this building since 2020.

The Las Vegas Raiders are 2-0. The Los Angeles Chargers are 0-2. Jim Harbaugh's 100th NFL game was also the first 0-2 start of his college or pro coaching career, the AP wrote. Cousins was 19 of 29 for 253 yards, three scores, and one pick. He is the first Raiders quarterback with at least three touchdown passes in each of the first two games of a season since Ken Stabler in 1976, Reuters said.

Justin Herbert was 15 of 27 for 192 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. He was sacked three times. Omarion Hampton ran 23 times for 94 and scored from a yard. It was not enough on a day Los Angeles put the ball on the ground too often.

Tucker from 40, Gay from 59

After a Chargers three-and-out, Cousins hit Tre Tucker twice in a row for 55 yards, the Raiders said. The second ball was 40 yards and a busted coverage. Rookie Genesis Smith, in for injured Elijah Molden, lost Tucker, the AP wrote. 7-0, 11:51 of the second.

Hampton punched in from a yard at 5:26. 7-7. Cousins then found Tucker again, this time for 42. Matt Gay made a career-long 59 as the half expired. 10-7. AJ Cole downed four of six punts inside the 20, the club said. Las Vegas ran for 57 yards as a team and still led at the break.

White twice, then a safety

Herbert hit Oronde Gadsden II from 10 at 9:49 of the third. 14-10 Chargers. Los Angeles recovered a fumble at the Las Vegas 10 on the next series. Maxx Crosby spun Herbert out of the sack that would have ended the drive. The Chargers still could not cash the short field into more than the lead they already had, and Cousins went right back the other way.

White's first score was a 13-yard catch at 3:53 of the third. 17-14. He had played in the Miami opener without a catch. This was the grab. The second one came after a late Hampton fumble set Las Vegas inside the red zone. Cousins play-faked on third-and-5 and found White from 11 with 2:59 left. 24-14. Three plays, 43 seconds, the AP wrote.

Crosby drew holding in the end zone. Safety. 26-14. Hezekiah Masses, a fifth-round pick, intercepted Herbert twice. The Review-Journal said he was the first Raiders rookie with multiple interceptions in a game since Henry Williams in 1979. The second pick closed it.

2-0 with 57 rushing yards

Ashton Jeanty ran 21 times for 48 and caught four for 15. That is not a 100-yard afternoon. It did not have to be. Tucker caught five for 119 and the long score. White caught two for 24 and both of his targets were touchdowns. Fernando Mendoza watched from the sideline, the AP said. Cousins kept the job for a second week.

Malcolm Koonce had 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble. Nakobe Dean added a half-sack. Cam Hart intercepted Cousins for Los Angeles. Khalil Mack had a sack. Six Chargers fumbles, the AP wrote. Hampton's late one was the one that became White's second score.

Gay's 59-yarder was the half. White's two catches were the second half. The safety was the last two points. Las Vegas did not need a 100-yard rusher. It needed Tucker behind a rookie corner, a practice-squad receiver in the end zone, and Masses catching Herbert twice.

Klint Kubiak is the first Raiders head coach (excluding interims) to win his first two games since Bill Callahan in 2002, the club said. Las Vegas had lost four straight to the Chargers by double digits and seven straight on the road. This one ended 26-14 in a building full of silver and black. The Chargers had opened with a 26-14 loss to Arizona. Same score, same 0-2. Harbaugh's heavily favored club had now dropped both of its first two by a dozen.
