Chiefs 30, Raiders 27: Walker Goes 177 in Vegas

October 4, 2026 - Las Vegas - Kenneth Walker III had already ripped 76 yards to the 8. The Raiders had just taken a 19-17 lead on Matt Gay's 48-yarder. Patrick Mahomes threw 55 yards to Tyquan Thornton. Walker walked in from 2. The two-point pass sailed high. Then Las Vegas fumbled the kickoff, and Walker scored from 22 on the next snap.

Nineteen seconds, two Walker touchdowns, 30-19. Kirk Cousins still found Brock Bowers from 20. The Kansas City Chiefs held on 30-27 and left Allegiant 4-0. The Las Vegas Raiders are 3-1. Mahomes is unbeaten in regular-season starts in this building. Andy Reid became the winningest coach in Allegiant history, per Reuters.

10-13 at the half, then 84 yards in 40 seconds

Cousins hit Ian Thomas from 27 on a four-play opening series. 7-0. Mahomes answered 69 yards later, Thornton from 2. 7-7. Gay from 32 after 15 plays. 7-10. Harrison Butker from 28. 10-10. Gay from 48 as the half expired. 10-13 Las Vegas. The third quarter was punts. The fourth was not.

Walker took the right edge and went 76 yards. Taron Johnson chased him down at the 8. The NFL gamebook has the next scoring drive as three plays, 84 yards, 40 seconds. Mahomes found Thornton from 8 with 14:50 left in the fourth. 17-13. ESPN wrote it was the first time the Raiders' defense had been scored on in a fourth quarter this season.

Gay from 44. Gay from 48. 19-17, 4:53 left. Then the blitz, the 55-yard strike to Thornton, and Walker's 2-yard plunge. Thornton left on a cart with a left leg injury after the 55-yard catch, per ESPN. The two-point pass to Walker sailed high. 23-19.

Walker finished 22 carries for 177 and those two scores, 8.0 a pop, long of 76. Kansas City ran 26 times for 189. Las Vegas ran 26 for 72. Mahomes was 15 of 30 for 225, two touchdowns to Thornton, two sacks, no picks. Thornton had five for 111 and both Kansas City receiving scores before the injury. Xavier Worthy caught four for 70. Travis Kelce had two for 15 on four targets. Noah Gray added two for 17.

The Raiders finished with 365 passing yards and still lost the explosive-play game. Mayer's eight catches were the volume. Walker's 76-yarder was the field-position shift that ended the shutout fourth quarters. Crosby and Butler's fourth-down stop at midfield was real. It did not survive the next 10 minutes.

Ashton Jeanty ran 15 times for 58 and caught six for 68. Michael Mayer had eight for 82. Maxx Crosby shared a half-sack with Adam Butler on a fourth-down stop of Walker at midfield earlier. It was the Raiders' first loss. Kansas City goes to a bye as the AFC's last unbeaten. Las Vegas visits New England.

Paid attendance was 62,593. The game took 3 hours, 19 minutes. Mahomes won his 99th regular-season game in a stadium where he is still undefeated as a starter in the regular season, completing half his passes while Walker covered the rest. The bye comes at 4-0. Las Vegas has to go to Foxborough at 3-1.
