Blues 6, Golden Knights 2: Barron's First Four-Point Night

October 22, 2026 - St. Louis - St. Louis claimed Justin Barron off waivers from Nashville on Sept. 27. On Thursday he scored his first goal as a Blue, added three assists, and left Enterprise Center with his first four-point night. "I feel like I'm a part of this team," he told NHL.com.

The St. Louis Blues beat the Vegas Golden Knights 6-2. St. Louis is 5-4-1, 3-0-1 at home, two straight on a five-game homestand. Vegas is 8-4-0 after a 6-2 loss in Tampa Bay on Tuesday. Shots were 31-29 St. Louis. Attendance was 18,096, per ESPN. Barron, Dylan Holloway, Pavel Buchnevich, Adam Jiricek, Jonatan Berggren, Jake Neighbours, Aleksanteri Kaskimaki, Otto Stenberg, Connor McMichael, Alexander Holtz, Cam Fowler, and Noah Hanifin are not seeded on AthX player pages, so those names stay unlinked.

Jimmy Snuggerud had a goal and an assist. Mason McTavish scored. Joel Hofer stopped 27 of 29. Jack Eichel and Brett Howden scored. Adin Hill stopped 25 of 31. Mitch Marner did not play. The Associated Press recap, citing a person with knowledge of the situation who spoke on condition of anonymity, said his wife was due with their second child. Holtz replaced him.

Buchnevich at 10:00, Barron off the post

Buchnevich opened it at 10:00 of the first on the power play. McMichael's long shot. Berggren kicked it out. Buchnevich went just under the bar. The NHL recap said St. Louis has scored a power-play goal in five straight (6-for-17), first time since Jan. 3-10, 2023.

Barron made it 2-0 at 13:49. Otto Stenberg's forecheck. Kaskimaki found Barron in the right circle. Wrist off the left post. First goal since April 16, 2025, the NHL recap said. First NHL point for Kaskimaki in seven games.

Howden cut it to 2-1 at 5:38 of the second. Hanifin's point shot. Howden tucked the rebound. Fourth goal in five games, the NHL recap said.

McTavish restored 3-1 at 8:30. He won an offensive-zone draw, went to the net, and tipped Jiricek from the left point through Hill's legs.

Eichel off a skate, then Holloway twice

Eichel made it 3-2 at 4:08 of the third. He tried to center for Mark Stone. The puck went in off Fowler's left skate, both recaps said. Jim Montgomery told NHL.com the Blues felt they were dictating play, then had to overcome a bounce. "Saturday, we're going to have the Stanley Cup winner here," he said, pointing at Carolina. "If you're going to beat the best teams in the League, you've got to be able to overcome adversity."

Snuggerud answered at 8:21, a wrister through Hanifin to the stick side. Third goal in three games. Holloway made it 5-2 at 10:29 from the high slot off a Robert Thomas backhand. He finished it at 16:05, a power-play one-timer from the right circle off Neighbours, Snuggerud the other helper.

Montgomery told NHL.com it was the best game St. Louis has played since the 2025 playoffs. The bench was alive. "When you're doing things right, there's a saying that the hockey gods reward you." Holloway has 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in a six-game point streak, the notes said. McTavish has nine points (five goals, four assists) in his past eight. Vegas has now played four straight games decided 6-2 (2-2-0).

Ryan Craig told NHL.com the Golden Knights were in between, hesitant when they tried to recover. "That's two games in a row of kind of putting ourselves in some tough situations." Eichel told NHL.com that every time St. Louis scored, Vegas scored, until it didn't over 60 minutes, and that a night like that needed simpler pucks in deep. The Associated Press recap said Marner had a seven-game point streak and 12 points in 11 games. Eichel has seven points (three goals, four assists) in his past five, the NHL notes said. Howden has six points (four goals, two assists) in his past six.

Fantasy points measure the box. Price is what traders will pay for a waiver claim who just had four points, and for an Eichel line that has now allowed six twice in a row. They are not the same number.

Track Snuggerud, McTavish, Eichel, and both clubs on the marketplace. Carolina visits St. Louis on Saturday. Vegas is in Columbus.
