Two finals on Friday. Colorado was down 2-0 and scored the next five. Boston was down 2-0 and scored the next four, three of them on the power play. AthX Engine (our projection and scoring system) scored both NHL boxes. We recapped every final. We did not invent extra games.
Top team fantasy scores
AthX Engine team points pay a win, half-credit for an overtime loss, then goals for and against. A 5-2 pays like a rally that actually finished. A 4-2 still pays. A regulation loss that scores two can sit at the floor.
| Rank | Team | Score | AthX Engine FP |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Colorado Avalanche | 5-2 vs PIT | 21.00 |
| 2 | Boston Bruins | 4-2 at ANA | 18.80 |
| 3 | Anaheim Ducks | 2-4 vs BOS | 0.40 |
| 4 | Pittsburgh Penguins | 2-5 at COL | 0.00 |
Colorado owns the club night on 5-2. Boston is 2.20 behind on 4-2. Anaheim keeps 0.40 for scoring twice and losing in regulation. Pittsburgh floors at 0.
Top skaters
C, W, and D only. Goalies have their own table. James Hagens, Frederic Brunet, and Pavel Zacha are not seeded on AthX player pages, so those names stay unlinked.
| Rank | Player | Pos | Team | AthX Engine FP |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Nathan MacKinnon | C | COL | 17.90 |
| 2 | David Pastrnak | W | BOS | 9.90 |
| 3 | Artturi Lehkonen | W | COL | 9.80 |
| 4 | Martin Necas | C | COL | 8.10 |
| 5 | Elias Lindholm | C | BOS | 7.60 |
| 6 | James Hagens | C | BOS | 7.20 |
| 6 | Frederic Brunet | D | BOS | 7.20 |
| 6 | Cale Makar | D | COL | 7.20 |
| 9 | Bryan Rust | W | PIT | 5.70 |
| 10 | Pavel Zacha | C | BOS | 5.60 |
MacKinnon's 17.90 is a goal, three assists, nine shots, a block, and the power-play bonus. Nobody else on the two-game slate is within 8.00. Pastrnak's 9.90 is the Boston tie. Lehkonen's 9.80 is the two goals that got Colorado out of 2-0. T.J. Hughes scored his first NHL goal and sits at 5.20, just outside this ten.
Top goalies
Win, 0.4 per save, minus 1.2 per goal against, plus 2 for a shutout, plus 0.5 for an overtime loss. No shutouts on the slate. DiPietro is unlinked.
| Rank | Player | Team | AthX Engine FP |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Mackenzie Blackwood | COL | 12.20 |
| 2 | Michael DiPietro | BOS | 10.60 |
| 3 | Arturs Silovs | PIT | 4.80 |
| 4 | Lukas Dostal | ANA | 2.40 |
Blackwood's 29-save win is the night's top goalie line after the 2-0 hole. DiPietro's first NHL win is 10.60 on 25 saves. Silovs stopped MacKinnon's penalty shot and still sits at 4.80 on five goals against.
Featured games
Friday had two finals. Both are here.
What stood out
Three things.
First, the skater board is a one-name night. MacKinnon's 17.90 is the four-point rally, the penalty shot that missed, and the power-play one-timer that made it 5-2. Colorado's 21.00 still needs the win. Pittsburgh's two goals in 29 seconds are Rust at 5.70 and a floor at 0.
Second, Boston's comeback is the power play, not even strength. Brunet, Pastrnak, and Lindholm all score with the extra skater. Hagens' first two-point NHL night is 7.20 on a 2-on-1 helper and Brunet's first goal. Anaheim led 2-0 and paid 0.40.
Third, the goalie table is two firsts stacked on two wins. Blackwood settles in after Malkin and Rust. DiPietro's first NHL victory is 1.60 behind him, on a night the NHL recap said he was Boston's best killer.
